ABOUT PEG HARMONY
For years I struggled with weight gain, lack of energy, and depression. I experienced “mom burnout”, when I was a single mom with two kids, working full-time, and taking care of aging parents. I knew I needed balance in my life and ways to find peace and harmony.
I started working out at a gym, and really enjoyed how I felt after a workout. The endorphins kicked in, I started to lose weight, and my energy levels improved. I felt better about myself!
I didn’t know it at the time, but this was the beginning of a twenty-year quest to better understand the benefits of exercise and how I could maximize my time and efforts with proper form and variety. It also led to my wanting to share my knowledge with my friends and other gym members. Over several years, I earned certifications in NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), NFPT (National Federation of Personal Trainers), Functional Movement, Resistance Training, Midlife Fitness for Women, TRX, & SPIN. Variety makes it fun.
During this period, I also learned that a healthy lifestyle is more than just lifting weights and spinning. It’s about BALANCE, not just in the body, but in the mind and spirit as well. It’s about stretching, eating healthy food, getting necessary rest, and finding a way to move your body every day. That’s when I started to explore Yoga, which builds strength, awareness & harmony in both the mind and the body. I became a certified Yoga instructor, and my personal training practice grew, as I explored the various ways that functional strength training, aerobics, and Yoga all contribute to wellness.
Most recently, I started studying the benefits of Reiki, an ancient energy healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress, and anxiety through gentle touch. In early 2022, I earned my Master Reiki Degree. This modality rounds out my practice and what I believe to be an ideal combination for helping you find balance in your life.
I’m passionate about helping others find happiness in life and feel good about themselves. After all, when you FEEL GOOD, you excel in life. My personal journey and knowledge can help you reach your own individual goals.
My other interests include nature, hiking, running, gardening, cooking, dancing, reading, spending time on the beach, and enjoying the company of my family, friends, and two cats, (Mojo, & Mylo)
